The BAN-2 / Inert Entry Technician is responsible for performing safe entry and operations inside nitrogen-inserted & oxygen-deficient vessels during shutdown, maintenance, and refinery operations. This role requires strong knowledge of confined space safety and safe work practices under hazardous conditions.
Responsibilities
Perform inert entry into nitrogen-filled or oxygen-deficient confined spaces.
Follow all safety protocols for oxygen monitoring, gas testing, and emergency readiness.
Use supplied air systems (SABA), lifelines, harnesses & breathing equipment correctly.
Support catalyst handling, vessel entry, tank entry, and reactor opening activities.
Coordinate with BA/N₂ Technicians, Safety Officers, and Supervisors for controlled entry.
Maintain communication with the attendant & rescue team during all confined space operations.
Monitor conditions inside the vessel and report abnormalities immediately.
Assist in shutdown, turnaround, and high-risk plant operations.
Follow PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, and refinery HSE procedures strictly.
Qualifications
✔ ITI / Diploma / Technical Qualification
✔ 3–10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas / Shutdown / Refinery
✔ Strong experience in:
Nitrogen / Inert Entry operations
Confined Space Safety
Supplied Air Breathing Systems (SABA)
✔ Gulf Experience Preferred
✔ Immediate Joiners Highly Preferred
